Cialis Information:

Cialis, or tadalafil, is a PDE5 inhibitor drug most commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction. It may also be used to treat BPH or benign enlargement of the prostate and pulmonary arterial hypertension. The medication is marketed under the name Adcirca and given in higher doses to treat pulmonary hypertension. PDE5 inhibitors block the enzyme PDE5 which exists in some smooth muscle tissues in the body. These medications stop the PDE5 enzyme from degrading cGMP, a nucleotide that acts to relax smooth muscle tissues. Relaxed smooth muscle tissue enhances the propensity for erectile function. Cialis differs from other PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra and Levitra in that it has a longer half-life of up to 17.5 hours and may function in the body for up to 36 hours. This is convenient as it is not required to schedule sexual activity as is necessary with some other medications. This is how Cialis has earned the nickname “the weekend pill”. Cialis should not cause an erection without direct sexual stimulation of the penis.

Cialis comes as a tablet and may be prescribed in dosages ranging from 2.5mg to 20mg. Tablets may be purchased with a subscription from your local pharmacy using a Cialis voucher or coupon to get a discount on the retail price. Take Cialis with a full glass of water 30 minutes before sexual activity. Cialis may last for up to 36 hours. Take this medication as recommended by your doctor for your particular condition. Cialis may be taken as needed (but not more than every 24 hours) or once at the same time every day as prescribed by your doctor.

Before taking Cialis, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to tadalafil or any of the ingredients in the Cialis tablets.
  • You are taking or have recently taken nitrates such as isosorbide dinitrate (Isordil), isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, ISMO), and nitroglycerin (Nitro-BID, Nitro-Dur, Nitroquick, Nitrostat). Ask your doctor if you are not sure whether any of your medications contain nitrates.
  • You are taking street drugs containing nitrates such as “poppers”.
  • You are taking alpha blockers, other erectile dysfunction medications, antifungals, HIV protease inhibitors, cholesterol medication, high blood pressure medications, other medications for erectile dysfunction, other medications or treatments for PAH, depression or anxiety medication and any other medications you might be taking.
  • You are taking St. John’s wort.
  • You smoke.
  • You have ever had an erection that lasted more than 4 hours.
  • You have recently had diarrhea, vomiting, not been drinking enough fluids, or sweating a lot which may have caused dehydration.
  • You have or have ever had pulmonary veno-occlusive disease.
  • You have any condition that affects the shape of the penis.
  • You have or have ever had diabetes, high cholesterol, high or low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, a heart attack or heart failure, angina (chest pain), a stroke, ulcers in the stomach, a bleeding disorder, blood circulation problems, blood cell problems such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia, or heart, kidney, or liver disease.
  • You or any of your relatives have or have ever had an eye disease such as retinitis pigmentosa or if you have ever had sudden severe vision loss, especially if you were told that the vision loss was caused by a blockage of blood flow to the nerves that help you see.
  • You are a woman and you are taking Cialis to treat PAH, tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.
  • You have ever experienced chest pain during sexual activity.

Talk to your doctor about eating grapefruit and drinking grapefruit juice while taking Cialis. If you have surgery or heart problems, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking Cialis. Ask your doctor about the safe consumption of alcoholic beverages while you are taking Cialis. Alcohol can make the side effects worse.

What if I forget to take a dose of Cialis?

If you are taking Cialis on a regular basis as per your doctor’s recommendation, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue on your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose of Cialis and do not take more than one dose per day.

What are the possible side effects of taking Cialis?

Common side effects that occur due to the effects of vasodilation or widening of the blood vessels include: headache, flushing, indigestion, runny nose, or muscle aches or pains in the back, arms and legs. These symptoms should disappear after 48 hours. If symptoms persist, call your doctor immediately.

Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately or get emergency medical treatment:

  • blurred vision or changes in color vision
  • ringing in ears
  • erection that lasts longer than 4 hours
  • dizziness
  • chest pain
  • allergic reaction
  • difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • blistering or peeling of skin

Some patients experienced a sudden partial or complete loss of vision after taking Cialis or other PDE5 inhibitors. In some cases this loss was permanent. Cialis may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.

Store this medication tightly closed in the container it came in. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from heat and moisture. Keep Cialis out of reach of children. Throw away any expired medication. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.

What happens if I overdose on Cialis?

An overdose on Cialis may lead to an increase in common side effects as well as chest pain, irregular heartbeat, lightheadedness, dizziness, and nausea. If you or someone you know might have overdosed on Cialis, contact the Poison Control Center at 1-888-222-1222. If the victim has lost consciousness or is not breathing, call 911.

Avoid grapefruit juice and grapefruits when taking Cialis as it can prevent the breakdown of Cialis in the body and potentially lead to overdose if taken regularly.

Cialis Coupon – Start Saving Money Today

Before adding Cialis to your shopping cart and applying a Cialis coupon, you should first verify that this prescription is the one your doctor ordered.

Cialis also known as the generic name Tadalafil, is used to treat sexual function problems, such as impotence and erectile dysfunction (ED), in men. It does this by increasing blood flow to the penis to help men get and maintain an erection during sexual stimulation. Cialis is also commonly used to ease symptoms of an enlarged prostate, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). With this, you may experience difficulty urinating, including a weak stream or the need to urinate frequently and urgently. In this case, Cialis can help relax the muscles of the prostate and bladder to help release the pressure. Your doctor may also prescribe Cialis for the treatment of high blood pressure, or pulmonary arterial hypertension. If this sounds like the medication your doctor prescribed, the good news is you can save money on your next prescription refill by using a Cialis coupon.

What is Cialis?

Cialis is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. Cialis can be taken in two ways. You can swallow a pill before you plan to have sex. The effects of Cialis can last up to 36 hours, so this can give you enough time for some spontaneity. You can also take a lower dose of Cialis on a daily basis if you plan to have sex more frequently.

ED, is when a man can’t get or keep an erection that’s hard enough for sex. It is common, and it’s the sexual problem reported most often by men. At one time it was thought ED only affected men as they aged. However, recent research has shown plenty of young men experience ED too.

Many things can cause ED. Medical conditions that limit the flow of blood to your penis, like diabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure, are common culprits. It can also be caused by psychological problems too, including performance anxiety, depression, emotional problems, and stress.

You get an erection when your penis fills with blood. Cialis helps with this by relaxing muscle tissue in the cavities inside your penis and the arteries leading to it, causing them to open. This increases blood flow to your penis and allows it to fill more easily. Cialis won’t give you an automatic erection. You need to feel desire, and you may need to be stimulated, with Cialis then helping to turn this desire into a lasting erection.

Cialis active ingredients

The active ingredient in Cialis is called tadalafil. Tadalafil makes the blood vessels leading to your penis, and cavities inside your penis, relax and open up. This increases the flow of blood to your penis and makes it fill and harden more easily.

Tadalafil does this by increasing the amount of a substance in your blood called cGMP. This substance makes muscle tissue in your blood vessels and penis relax. Your body naturally breaks down cGMP. It does this in your penis using an enzyme called PDE5. Tadalafil attaches itself to this PDE5 enzyme and stops it working. This causes cGMP to build up in the blood in your penis and the surrounding region.

Cialis side effects & Cialis drug interactions

Like any medication, Cialis can cause side effects, with the most common affecting around 1 in 10 people who take it. These include headaches, muscle aches, back pain, pain in the arms and legs, facial flushing, nasal congestion, and indigestion.

In rarer cases, Cialis can cause more serious side effects, including allergic reactions to the medication, chest pain, a sudden loss of vision, or an erection that lasts for a number of hours (priapism). Heart attacks and strokes have been reported in men with pre-existing heart problems. Your physician will assess your risk of side effects versus the benefits of taking Cialis.

When taken together some medications can interact with each other. This can affect how they work and make certain side effects more likely. Medications and other substances that are known or thought to interact with Cialis include:

  • Other erectile dysfunction medications
  • Medicines called nitrates, used for chest pain
  • Nitric oxide donor medications, like amyl nitrite
  • Protease inhibitors
  • Alpha-blocker medications
  • 5-alpha reductase inhibitors used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (prostate enlargement)
  • Any other medications used to treat high blood pressure
  • Treatments for pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs), like riociguat
  • The anticonvulsant medicines phenobarbital, phenytoin, and carbamazepine
  • The antibiotics rifampicin, erythromycin, and clarithromycin
  • Itraconazole, an antifungal medication
  • Grapefruit juice
  • Excessive amounts of alcohol

Make sure to tell your prescribing physician about all drugs you’re taking, as well as those mentioned above, including any vitamins or dietary supplements.
